Day of the Chainsaw Wielding Baby - Version 2

Posted by Leo Tsang Sunday, January 23, 2011 Labels: 0 comments

After some feedback, we've uploaded a second version of our animation trailer without the narrative trailer voice. Enjoy!

‘Project 6’ – an experiment to create the perfect killing machine, goes astray when their latest subject escapes from a secret laboratory located in the depths of the Earth.

Alone and confused, Project 6 is out of control! Who can stop this ‘baby’ now?

Be sure to spot the Easter eggs for Gremlin Box Productions, B3D Studios and Creature Studios for their respective animations. Apologies to the Void Canvas Studio, Inspire Studios and Lucid Studios that we couldn't fit you in!

Black Bg/White Bg/Transparent Bg. (Professional Practice)

Better looking teaser poster.

Again, I've mocked up another version. Hopefully this one won't get hate...

This is my second attempt at a title page for our Making Of.. book.

Old Idea;
I will be working more on the newer design, until it's perfected.

Marketing: Logo Revised

This afternoon, I've been focussing on creating / reviving our old Chainsaw Wielding Baby logo. I had the idea of the chainsaw destroying the type, hence the massive chainsaw and sparks.

This *NEEDS* feedback. I'll be working on this until it's perfect.

Here's some quick ideas that I've mocked up this morning.

Clean street scene

This is a render of the street scene before the destruction. It is now fully textured and includes physical sun and sky. The aim was to match the visual characteristics of the baby and other models, whilst maintaining a believable environment.

Here is a previous render utilizing a simple spotlight and ambient light rig:

The result is clearly less effective as it produces a distinctly CG image.

Baby's First Steps

Watch Chainsaw baby take his first steps!

After looking at several babies walking on youtube, I tried to capture the baby's walk cycle by making him a little off balance and slowing his movements. It's not perfect - but its hopefully convincing enough for the few shots that the baby is walking in. Further eye movements and blinks will help the walk cycle overall.
