It is now fully textured and includes physical sun and sky. The aim was to match the visual characteristics of the baby and other models, whilst maintaining a believable environment.<br /><br /><br />Here is a previous render utilizing a simple spotlight and ambient light rig:<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mQ56Uw8rpRo/TTHLMMV_zEI/AAAAAAAAA4M/WLhp-h94erQ/s1600/raytraceshadow%253D1m30s.jpg"><img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 225px;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_mQ56Uw8rpRo/TTHLMMV_zEI/AAAAAAAAA4M/WLhp-h94erQ/s400/raytraceshadow%253D1m30s.jpg" border="0" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5562450425111628866"></a><br />The result is clearly less effective as it produces a distinctly CG image.<br /><br />Playblast:<br /><br /><object id="BLOG_video-FAILED" class="BLOG_video_class" width="320" height="266" contentid="FAILED"></object>Kin Chanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/04731889989105255090noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-564397103984055323.post-24116492643659328252011-01-14T16:10:00.003+00:002011-01-14T16:41:32.580+00:00Baby's First StepsWatch Chainsaw baby take his first steps!<br /><br /><object height="385" width="640"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/XJwk0K0qiG8?fs=1&hl=en_GB"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/XJwk0K0qiG8?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="385" width="640"></embed></object><br /><br />After looking at several babies walking on youtube, I tried to capture the baby's walk cycle by making him a little off balance and slowing his movements. It's not perfect - but its hopefully convincing enough for the few shots that the baby is walking in. Further eye movements and blinks will help the walk cycle overall.Leo Tsanghttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13684302634173273006noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-564397103984055323.post-85611343305354507522011-01-14T10:39:00.000+00:002011-01-14T10:39:41.650+00:00Updated: Radio SceneAdded Dado Rail, and a Police Award. Initially, I tried using a wire deformer which did not want to work for some reason, but eventually found the solution with the use of a mel script. Here I made made a quick experiment speeding up and slowing down the chainsaw animation. When it comes to animating the chainsaw fully, I'm hoping we can add some vibration to the chainsaw and perhaps motion blur when compositing.<br /><br /><object height="385" width="640"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/S4smndzTvbw?fs=1&hl=en_GB"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/S4smndzTvbw?fs=1&hl=en_GB" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="385" width="640"></embed></object><br /><br />I've also added the mouth interior to the baby, with some teeth and tongue. The head has proven tricky as I've had some difficulty in ironing out some of the creases, though I think I've got it to an acceptable state. I believe the number '6' tattoo and eyebrows can also be done with textures. Once I've laid out the UVs, I'll move on to add the chainsaw model to the baby.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_-xDCOhtRz8E/TRPLmj2xyKI/AAAAAAAAD5E/K9fym9wXtuk/s1600/babymodel01a.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; Think it be good if everyone can post/leave a comment where there at and what they are working on next, so we can keep on top of things. Hopefully, we will be texturing this week.<br /><br />As for me, I'm almost done with the baby model just working on the ear and overall head shape.
